The Swedish Liquorice Festival
Swedes love licorice, as they love candy. The saltier, the better.
The Annual Swedish Liquorice Festival gathers liquorice lovers including consumers, suppliers, manufacturers and lecturers from all over Sweden and the rest of the world, in order to taste, experiment and inform about different kinds of liquorice.
Liquorice, namely black candy with a sharp, sour taste, is a confectionery flavored with the extract of the roots of the liquorice plant. People not used to that taste generally find it bizarre and quite unpleasant. While the Nordic countries can hardly go without it. Licorice extract is added also to food as a spice, for example to chocolate or ice cream. There are more and more recipes that use licorice root powder and liquorice paste as an ingredient.
The Liquorice Festival will be held March in Stockholm. Book an apartment from the list below.
